All About Animals

Feathers, fins, fur and more! Explore the animal kingdom and learn about the habitats, anatomy and life cycles of your favorite creatures. Make your own animal tracks, experiment with camouflage, and explore the amazing — and sometimes strange — sounds that animals make.

Energy Burst!

In this fascinating lab, young scientists learn all about energy, the transferrable energy of objects! Explore the energy of motion (potential versus kinetic energy), and how energy can be conserved. Then learn about the different forms of energy, and watch it come to life in your very own experiments using tools such as radiometers!

Get Connected

Young scientists will take on telecommunications in this lab! How does a telephone work? What is a network? How does your voice travel and become a signal? Learn how telephones and other devices send messages over long distances! Learn all about cell towers, sound waves, and more!

Life In The Sea

What is life like under the ocean's surface? What kind of animals and plants are found in the sea? Examine and investigate starfish, sea urchins, and shells. Learn about buoyancy and adaptation. Make your own Cartesian diver, and find out what humans must do in order to explore the deep, dark depths of our planet's oceans!

Mix it Up

This lab challenges young scientists to branch out into the physical aspects of chemistry. Students will learn concepts of physical mixtures, solutions, and suspensions with sorting activities. They use tools of the trade to clarify water and to separate mixtures into their components. Colorful demonstrations will explain the molecular movement of various solutions!

Moving Motion

Learn all about the forces behind the movement of planes, trains and automobiles! Students will perform a series of experiments to learn more about friction, inertia, and other forces that affect the way things move!

Radical Robots

What are automatons? How do robotic systems work? Learn all about robot-building in this exciting Mad Science lab! Students will tinker with their very own robots as they learn the basic engineering skills involved in building these machines. Experiment with robots that can do some extraordinary tasks, infrared robots, robotic arms, and even soccer playing robots.

Super Power Sources

Take a bold look at power generation, circuitry and renewable resources! Race "grasshoppers" using solar power, build a circuit, and power it using chemistry! Kids will even get to see how a fuel cell can create electricity using water, hydrogen and oxygen!
